Nathan was born into a large, busy family of seven children.

The home was always a welcome haven to other less-

fortunate children, and a gathering place for his father’s

educational colleagues and business associates.

At age seventeen, Nathan joined the United States Marine

Corps and spent eight years in military service.

While serving in the Marine Corps, Nathan finished college.

He followed in his father’s footsteps by setting up learning

centers in several states for children and for “down

and out” illiterate adults going through substance abuse

rehabilitation.

Nathan earned a PH.D. in Psychology and Christian

Counseling from Louisiana Baptist University.  During this

time, he served as an licensed administrator of a residential

facility and school for troubled teens.

In addition to his administrative and educational duties at

the school, Nathan developed the Paladin program, an

adventure-based education program designed to help teen’s

self-esteem and build confidence through strength and

experience.

Later Nathan followed his childhood dream and became

educated and licensed as a Master Peace Officer by the State

of Texas.  He has earned multiple proficiency and instructor

certifications and has accumulated over 4,000 hours of

Continuing Education in Criminal Justice, Emergency

Management Studies, and Forensic Hypnosis.

For several years, he has been a guest lecturer at Hardin

Simmons University’s Criminal Justice Department.

Nathan has served as a Captain for the Uvalde County

Sheriff Department, and became a Special Investigator for

the District Attorney’s Office serving Uvalde, Real, and

Medina Counties.  Nathan has testified in Local, State, and

Federal Courts.  He has presented cases to the Grand Jury,

and he has been the lead investigator in homicides, Mexican

Mafia and Texas Syndicate cases, and in organized crime

investigations along the border area.  Nathan currently

serves as the Chief of Police in Winters, Texas.

Officer Davis spent the majority of his life in the Central Texas area, is a proud father, and grandfather, who enjoys fishing, hunting, boating, and other outdoor activities.

Officer Davis began his law enforcement career, in 1988, while attending the W.C.T.C.O.G. Law Enforcement Academy, in Abilene, Texas. Officer Davis has 23 years law enforcement experience, beginning as a reserve deputy, patrolman, and promoting through the ranks, achieving the positions of Captain of Investigations, and Patrol Commander. Officer Davis was appointed and served as Chief of Police for the Cities of Lexington, Texas, and Olney, Texas, prior to joining the Winters Police Department. Officer Davis holds a Master Peace Officer Certification, is a T.C.L.E.O.S.E. Certified Police Instructor, and has attended over 2500 hours of education and law enforcement training.

Officer Davis says he set goals early in his career, met those goals, but missed certain aspects of Law Enforcement. He recently decided to leave the administration side of the job, and return to a patrol position, allowing him to interact with citizens in a more “community involved”, and enjoyable atmosphere.
